Our Programs

“Computers/coding is the only language you can use to express yourself to 7BN people in the world”- Tim Cook. We want to ensure that every child in India learns how to express themselves and communicate.

KidsWhoKode takes a three pillar approach to enable every child to develop a robust understanding of computers and coding. Through these three pillars, we are able to achieve scale without compromising of sustainability and personalization.

Across each of the three pillars the pedagogy remains consistent. There is a focus on:

  • Application based learning that requires students to apply multiple concepts in a single exercise

  • Peer-to-peer learning, communication, creativity, and other 21st century skills

  • All classroom activities and learnings are directly correlated to industry and the future of technology

BUILDING THE FOUNDATIONS

KidsWhoKode builds capacity in teachers and education nonprofits so that students learn: how computers are structured, the basics of computers for business (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Internet, and Digital Safety), logical/computational thinking (algorithms, flow charts, pattern recognition, loops, nested loops, conditions, functions, and variables), and the foundations of coding (Python or Scratch).

The Building the Foundations content begins with students in grade 5 and can be taught for a period of 5 years. The duration and depth can be customized basis the school and student base-line.

Rapid Transformation

KidsWhoKode offers a bootcamp, in web-development and software engineering, for students interested in pursuing technology. Bootcamps run for 96-112 teaching hours. Classes are taught by engineers from Google, Amazon, Hackerrank, Honeywell, Morgan Stanley, Practo, Ola and other leading technology companies. Content for the bootcamps are built with input and guidance from industry. The final hours of the bootcamp allows students to work in teams to build their own applications, websites, and games.

Post the bootcamp, students are invited to spend 2 hours a week for 3 months at a partner company to continue their learnings.
